When he shared this dream with his bible class in the Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis, a group of business men agreed
to underwrite such a project, and the first Camp Farthest Out met at Lake Koronis, Paynesville, Minnesota, in the summer of 1930.
The name, Camps Farthest Out, was derived from Glenn's experience on an island farthest out from his vision to take people farthest out in loving, forgiving,
believing, trusting and obeying the teachings of Jesus Christ for kingdom living.
Other camps followed in other locations throughout the country until, in 1993, there were 69 camps distributed
over eight area zones in the United States and Canada. Additionally, growing out of Glenn Clark's inspiration, Camps Farthest Out International - a separate
corporation of CFO - has more than 100 camps and Retreats located outside North America, all around the globe.
Because so many requests for intercessory prayer came to Dr. Clark, in 1942 he founded an affiliated organization, the United Prayer Tower, with its 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week
prayer-partner accessibility to those in need of prayer for any reason whatsoever.
In combination, these examples of man's reach in God's kingdom help to realize Glenn Clark's vision of a loving Christ-centered laboratory where
people meet and learn how to empty themselves of self, and learn how to love God with all their strength, with all their mind, with all their heart, and with all their soul.
